2008: An Immersive Installation
(2023)
Project Description
2008 was created at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts as the final project of the Principles of Interactivity course. It used the set-piece of a blanket fort to transport the participants back in time to a living room in the early 2000s (the time in which many of the participants had grown up). It used materials found around the house that made participants feel as though the experience was created by a child.
Plot Synopsis
2008 features a non-linear narrative that follows a young boy named Mikey who created the blanket fort and lives in the house it takes place in. Participants of the experience could explore Mikey's relationships with his family and friends through sticky notes left on significant items.
